The XUYU – Infrared Heating Pad is not your typical heating pad. It is not a warm, fuzzy, soft pad but made with vinyl on the back (which makes it easy to clean) and 84 jade and tourmaline which provides hot gemstone heat, negative ions and far infrared heating. The pad comes with a digital display power cord that plugs into the front end of the pad. You can set a timer for it to automatically shut off in 1 to 5 hours of use. You set the temperature to your comfort level up to 158 degrees Fahrenheit. You put the gemstone part of the pad to your body. There is also an included instruction pamphlet that has operation and cleaning info. The pad covers a large area (like your back). It isn’t a flexible pad, so it isn’t going to form to into your neck easily. This is a great pad if you are wanting something that can provide heat to your back. It definitely feels much better than my regular heating pad.

This is a very large, thick and heavy heating pad. It looks exactly like the photos and the description in the listing is accurate. I use this on my back. I can position it on my zero gravity chair, then set it to a comfortable heat (around 120 degrees). It takes a few minutes to heat up. But once it’s hot, and I relax onto my chair, the heat this pad provides is so soothing and relaxing. I can’t even describe it. It almost puts me in a meditative state! I know that sounds cheesy but it’s true.
This heating pad is much larger than most, but I don’t think it’s any more difficult to handle or use. The controls are very simple and clear, and the cord can be detached from the pad. The storage bag has plenty of room for the pad (rolled up) and the cord.
It’s a bit pricy, but for the relief it provides me, I think it’s worth it. If you are going to splurge on something, this would be a good choice. Makes a great gift as well!

I have mixed feelings about this XUYU Infrared Heating Pad with Jade and Tourmaline. It does provide gentle heat and the pad, itself, is well finished with no loose threads and tightly sewn edges. A stuff sack is thoughtfully provided for storing the pad when not in use but it is an extremely tight fit and, unless storing it for an extended period of time, I don’t think it’s worth the struggle to get it in the sack. The other issue I have with it is the way the temperature control range is described.
You can set the control at any temperature from 85-158 degrees F, in one degree increments. However, for those unfamiliar with stone heating pads, you should know that the pad will get warmer than the temperature you select. The longer the pad is on, the greater the discrepancy tends to be. Even within a few minutes, a pad set at 85 can reach 105, which will show up on the temperature pad so you’re aware of it. That is not a fault of the pad, it’s just a feature of using natural stones which retain heat. You do need to be a bit patient with this pad as it takes a bit longer to warm up that traditional electric heating pads. Since it doesn’t cool as quickly when turning down the temperature either, I prefer to just start out at the lowest temp and slowly work it up, as needed.
If you’re looking for a heating pad to relax with, this can be a good choice. If you’re already familiar with jade pads, you’ll likely be quite happy with it. However, if you need or want a pad that responds quickly to changes you make on the temperature controller, it may not be the one for you – especially if you’re accustomed to using standard heating pads with electric coils. Although the instructions are clearly written, some people may still be confused by the differences in the styles of pads so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re shopping for a gift.

This is a review of XUYU Infrared Heating Pad for Back Pain Relief, EMF-Free,16.5 x 26 Inches, Jade and Tourmaline, Smart Controller, Auto Shut Off.
This is a great heating pad for back pain. It is big and those jade and tourmaline stones really hold heat. They heat up more slowly than a regular heating pad does, but once hot they feel really nice. Note that you can’t really suddenly just lower the heat because they are stones, which retain heat. This pad is great for its advertised purpose — the back. But it is not suitable for wrapping around a limb, for example, because it is pretty stiff. In fact, I find it hard to put into that little sack that was included for the pad’s storage—I don’t want to treat the pad roughly in any way. The controls are easy to use.
So if you want to have only one multi-purpose heating pad, this is not the one. If you have room for a dedicated heating pad for the back, this is great.
